The TURBO-REFLEX partnership consists of 26 partners from nine different countries, including core representatives of the European Turbine Industry and leading european universities and research institutes.
DLR is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. DLR’s mission comprises the exploration of Earth and the Solar System and research for protecting the environment. This includes the development of environment-friendly technologies for energy supply and future mobility, as well as for communications and security. DLR operates major research facilities for its own projects and as a service for clients and partners. It also fosters the development of the next generation of researchers, provides expert advisory services to government and is a driving force in the regions where its facilities are located.
DLR actively takes part in WP1 and will contribute to the 3D CFD setup model creation in order to capture the main flow mechanism in the compressor involving interactions in between extracted and main flows with high mass flow extracted. Based on this, DLR is involved in the detailed aero design of flow control based on 3D CFD. This will contribute to the development of new Blow-off design solution geometry and CFD assessment of the performance benefit, both for new units and existing engines.
